Chats
The Chats module provides a comprehensive platform for communication and collaboration among users within the system. It offers an intuitive interface to manage and participate in conversations.
New Chat
The New Chat feature allows users to quickly create new conversations and add participants. This function is accessible both from the Chat icon in the top bar and directly on the Chat page, enabling efficient initiation of discussions.
List of Chats
The List of Chats displays all active conversations where the user is either a participant or the creator. This list helps users track ongoing conversations and find specific chats they are involved in.
Chat body
The Chat Body interface allows users to view and interact with individual chat conversations. It includes:
- Message Input Bar: A space for typing and sending messages.
- File Attachment Option: Enables users to attach files to their messages, improving communication with additional context and resources.
Top Chat panel
The Top Chat Panel provides key controls and information about the chat, such as:
- Edit Button: Allows the chat creator to rename the chat.
- Chat User Management: The chat creator can add or remove participants, managing the composition of the group.
- Mute Chat: Users can mute notifications from the chat to avoid interruptions while staying informed.
- Leave Chat: Users can leave the chat. If the chat creator leaves, they are asked whether to delete the chat for all members or just for themselves.
Notifications and Unread Messages
- Top Bar Icon: A Chat icon in the top bar will indicate the presence of unread messages.
- When a user clicks the Chat icon in the top bar, and selects a chat, a sidebar with the Chat Body opens, allowing for quick access and interaction with the selected conversation.
- List of Chats: Both the List of Chats and the top bar will highlight conversations with unread messages, ensuring users are aware of new activity.
